If you’re a Yahoo! Mail user, perhaps you should try using some of the tips and tricks and tips below in order to enhance your Yahoo! Mail experience.

Change the Yahoo! Mail Interface Color

The default Yahoo! Mail interface color is called “ocean”. However, you can actually change the color of the Yahoo! Mail interface by going to “Options” and then to “Colors”, located near the top right of the Yahoo! Mail interface, under the “Web Search” bar.

There are six different colors that you can choose from, including classic, ocean, chrome, tangerine, violet, grass, and bubblegum.

Adding Contacts

If you received an e-mail from someone that you would like to add as a contact, you can add them to your contacts list by simply dragging the e-mail from your inbox to your “Contacts” list on the right of the Yahoo! Mail interface.

Once you’ve dragged the e-mail over to the “Contacts” section, a box should appear where you can enter in details about the contact that you would like to add, such as their name, e-mail address, chat ID, and phone number.

Integrated Chat

If you’re someone who likes to chat with your contacts on Yahoo! Messenger, you can do so right from the Yahoo! Mail interface. If you already have contacts on Yahoo! Messenger, you should be able see your online contacts in the sidebar on the left, under the “Contacts” section.

If you would like to chat with one of your contacts, you can do so by simply clicking on their username, which will open a chat window where you should be able to chat with your contacts.

Receive E-mail from other Accounts

If you have more than one e-mail account, whether it be with Yahoo! Mail or another e-mail provider, you can add your other accounts to your Yahoo! Mail account, so that you can receive all of your e-mail in one place, providing that your other e-mail providers have POP support.

If you would like to set up a POP account with your Yahoo! Mail account, you can do so by going to “Options” and then to “More Options”.

From there, you should click on “Accounts” and then click on the “Add Account” button, where you should be able to set up your POP account.

Filters

If you’re someone who would like to organize your e-mail into folders, but don’t want to do it manually, you can set up filters to organize your e-mail for you.

If you would like to set up a filter, you can do so by going to “Options” and then to “More Options”. From there, you should click on “Filters” in the sidebar. After you’ve done that, you should click on the “Add Filter” button, where you should be able to create a new filter to sort your e-mail for you.

Also, if you are a minor, FaceBook’s privacy settings work differently than they would if you were an adult. If you are a minor and set your privacy settings to “Everyone”, only their “Friends”, “Friends of Friends”, and people in any verified networks they are a part of are able to see their information. However, there are exceptions to this, such as “Search for me on FaceBook” and “Send me friend requests”, which will be set to “Everyone” if they have their privacy settings set to “Everyone”.

If you ever need to edit a photo, but aren’t sure what program or tool to use to do so, perhaps you should try using Picnik.com.

When you arrive at Picnik.com, you can edit a photo by clicking on the “Upload a photo” button, which will open a browse box, where you can find and select the photo that you would like to upload. There is also the option to open a demo photo.

Once you’ve uploaded a photo, you will be able to edit your photo using a variety of tools, including auto fix, rotate, crop, resize, exposure, colors, sharpen, and red-eye. These tools are available under the “Edit” tab.

Under the “Create” tab, you will be able to add different effects to your photo, including orton-ish, teeth whiten, fancy focus, cross process, and more.

Also under the “Create” tab is the option to touch up your photos, using tools such as a blemish fix, shine-be-gone, airbrush, wrinkle remover, sunless tan eye color, as well as others. However, most of these tools require a premium subscription if you would like to save them to your image.

Picnik.com is free to use and has many features, which aren’t included in this post, with the option to upgrade your account to a premium account for $24.95 a year, which enables the use of more features of the website, such as most of the touch-up tools.

If you’re a Flickr user and would like to be able to upload photos on the go, perhaps you should try using the Flickr application for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Once you launch the Flickr application, you will see various images being shown in the middle of the application, similar to how you see an image when you go to the Flickr website.

If you would like to upload photos to your Flickr account, you first have to sign in, which you can do by tapping on one of the buttons, such as the information button, the upload button, as well as the other buttons, such as the “Recent”, “You”, and “Contacts” button.

When you tap on a button and choose to log in, you will have to launch Safari and then enter in your Yahoo! Account credentials and then authorize the Flickr application.

After you’ve authorized the Flickr application, you will be then be able to upload and view your photos.

If you would like to upload a photo to your Flickr account, you can do so by tapping on the upload button, which looks like a camera with an arrow. From there, you will have the option to either take a photo or upload a photo from your library.

Once you choose a photo from your library, you will be able to enter details about the photo, such as a title, description, which set it will go in, tags, what size the image will be, as well as if you would like to tag your current location. You can also choose what privacy level you would like to set for your photo. Once you’ve finished editing your photo’s information, you can tap on the “Done” button.

Once you’ve entered in your photo’s information, you can either upload it or add another photo to be uploaded.

When you’re ready to upload the photo, you can simply click on the “Upload” button and then you will see will be able to see the photo that is being uploaded, as well as a progress bar for the upload.

After the photo has been uploaded, you will be taken back to the main screen in the application.

Also on the main screen is a search box, where you can search for photos and videos, as well as a “Recent” button, which shows your recent activity and uploads, a “You” button, which allows you to see your sets and tags, as well as your favorites, and your PhotoStream, as well as a “Contacts” button, which shows your Yahoo! Contacts.

Viddler.com allows you to upload videos up to 500 MB in size to the Viddler website with no limit on how long the video is. Viddler also allows you to choose whether or not you would like your videos to be public, shared, or private. When you upload a video, it’s set to private by default.

However, you can change whether or not you would like your video to be shared, which means that only a specific group of people will be able to see your video or public, which means that anyone can see your video.

Also, you can use a custom logo that will be displayed at the bottom right of videos that you upload.

Viddler also offers profiles, which you can edit by logging into your Viddler account and clicking on the “Profile” button and then clicking on “Edit your Profile”, where you should be able to upload a picture that will be used as your profile’s icon. You can also add links to other services, such as Twitter and Flickr to your Viddler profile.

Viddler is free to use and has no limit as to how many videos you upload or how long the videos are, but there is a 500 MB size limit.

Vimeo.com

Vimeo.com is a website that allows you to upload and host your videos online for free.

Vimeo offers two account types, a Basic Account, which is free, as well as a Plus Account, which costs $59.99 a year.

With a Basic Account, users can upload up to 500 MB of video per week and up to 10 videos a day. Also, Basic users are allowed to upload 1 HD video (720p) a week. Basic users are also allowed to have 1 channel, 1 group, and 3 albums for their videos. Users can also download converted files from the Vimeo website. In addition to this, Basic Users also have robust privacy controls, as well as basic embedding features.

If you upgrade from a Basic Account to a Plus account, you have access to more features, which you can view in Vimeo’s FAQ section on their website.

If you’ve ever heard a song on the radio and weren’t sure what it was called or which artist created it, perhaps you should try using Sound Hound, which is an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch, as well as the iPad.

Sound Hound is an application that allows you to identify songs by letting the application listen to the song that you would like to identify, as well as by singing or humming the song. With Sound Hound, you can also view the lyrics to the song that you identified in the application.

If you would like to ID a song, you simply launch the Sound Hound application and click on the large orange button that says “Tap here”. You’ve probably heard of Google’s Nexus One phone, which was launched in January and runs Google’s Android operating system.

If you wanted to purchase a Nexus One, one way to do so would be to purchase it from Google’s online phone store.

However, Google has announced today on its official blog that they will be making changes to the way they sell their Nexus One phone, which are that they will be trying to offer the phone through existing retail channels, like they do in Europe.

Once Google has increased the availability of Nexus One phones in retail stores, the online store will cease to sell the phone, but rather will use the online store as an outlet to showcase different Android phones which are available globally.

As you may have heard, Apple approved the Opera Mini web browser to be allowed into the App Store. If you’re curious about the application, hopefully this post will help you learn more.

When you first launch Opera Mini, you will see a welcome screen, giving you information about the browser.

Start Page

Once you’ve tapped on the “OK” button, you will be taken to a Start Page that has five websites shown in a thumbnail view, which are the My Opera website, FaceBook, Twitter, The New York Times, and AccuWeather. If you tap and hold on one of the thumbnails, you can either clear it or edit the website that you would like to appear in the thumbnail. There are also four empty thumbnails, which you can add websites to. If you tap on a thumbnail, you will be taken to the website associated with it.

Visiting a Website

When you visit a website, whether it be a website who’s URL you’ve entered or a website from the Start Page, the name of the website you’re on will appear in a red information bar, toward the top of the browser. Also, there is an address bar, as well as a search engine that you can use. The search box has options to use either Google, Amazon, eBay, Wikipedia, as well as the option to manage the search engines.

At the bottom of the browser, you should see five buttons, a back arrow, a forward arrow, a refresh button, a tabs button, and the settings button.

Tabbed Browsing

The tabs button allows you to switch between multiple websites without having to leave the website you’re on. You can simply switch between websites that are loaded in tabs.

When you would like to open a website in a new tab, you can simply click on the tabs button and click on the thumbnail with a plus on it. Once you’ve done that, you can either choose from a website on your Start Page or enter in a URL to a different website. The tabs button also shows you how many tabs you have opened by displaying a number on the button.

If you would like to close a tab, you can do so by clicking on the tabs button and clicking on the red button with an “X” on it.

Settings

If you would like to view and change Opera’s settings, you can do so by clicking on the wrench button, which is located in the bottom right of the browser.

Once you’ve clicked on the wrench button, you can view and manage your bookmarks, history, Start Page, as well as Saved Pages. There is a also a “Find in Page” button, which allows you to search for text in a webpage. Also, there is a “Help” button and a “Settings” button.

If you click on the “Settings” button, you will be able to manage different settings, such as whether or not to load images, what the image quality is, and how big the font is. You can also select whether or not you would like to enable “Mobile View”, “Fullscreen”, as well as “Opera Link”.

From the settings menu, you can also view and manage your privacy settings, such as whether or not to remember passwords or accept cookies. You can also clear your history, passwords, and cookies from the “Privacy” section.

The last thing in the settings menu is the “Advanced” section, which allows you to choose which type of browsing protocol you would like to use, as well as to start page links.

If you haven’t already heard, Hewlett Packard has entered a definitive agreement to acquire Smart Phone manufacturer, Palm, for a price of $1.2 Billion, which was announced by the two companies this afternoon.

Under the terms of the acquisition agreement, Palm stockholders will receive $5.70 for each share of stock that they are holding at the end of the merger between the two companies.

Palm’s current CEO and chairman is also expected to stay with the company after the merger, which is expected to happen at the end of July, 2010.

Google Buzz is a relatively new service from Google that allows users to share information in similar ways to services, such as Twitter.

With Google Buzz’s popularity growing and there not being an official Google Buzz button that users can use to share information, Google Buzz created an official button that users can now use to share information on a variety of websites.

Some of the websites that you may see this button on include: YouTube, MySpace, GigaOm, Mashable, Meebo, as well as more websites and services.

If you would like to add a Google Buzz button to your own website, you can do so by going to Google Buzz’s “Stuff” webpage and and then copy and paste the code into your website.
